Fantomaniak · Original ink drawing · Atypical After Dark

Fantomaniak has made an effort. Top hat, gloves, a pumpkin presented on a tray like a cake brought to dinner. The sheet is patched, but clean. As for the socks in sandals, he owns it. It’s comfortable, and he’s walked a lot since the 19th century.

He always arrives a little early, always with something in his hands, and never really knows if he’s invited. He is invited. He always is.

Fantomaniak is part of Atypical After Dark, the Halloween branch of the Atypical family: characters who never quite fit in, and are rather proud of it.

In your home

He’s easy to imagine in an entryway, welcoming visitors with his pumpkin. In a library, between two gothic novels. Above a desk, to remind us that one can be polite, elegant, and slightly off-kilter all at the same time. The black, gray, and white of the paper match pretty much everything, from an antique interior to a very understated wall. And he doesn’t disappear on November 1st: he’s there all year round, discreet, with his slightly anxious air.

As a gift

For someone who starts decorating for Halloween in September. For the friend who wears socks with sandals and isn’t ashamed of it. For a housewarming party, because a ghost arriving with a gift is exactly the spirit. Or for a birthday, if the person likes things that are a little strange, a little tender, and unlike anything else. It’s a unique piece: no one else will have the same one.
